A sustainably-sourced hair and body care brand based on time-honored African beauty riturals, MAWU chooses vegan, responsibly-sourced botanicals that are not tested on animals.
MAWU celebrates diversity with their core values at the forefront – Peace, Love, and Power to the People.
Based in ancient African folklore, MAWU is the ‘Creator of Beauty’, and life giving mother. Their mission is to honor that theme by building a community of caring for yourself, others and the environment.
Sustainable sourcing contributes to the livelihood of many populations across Africa. MAWU’s commitment to responsible harvesting of native species such as Shea and Baobab oil helps fight deforestation and preserves African biodiversity.
They are also a partner in the “Guardians of the Baobab” program by which every purchase contributes to the continued survival of the Baobab by incentivizing local women to care for and nurture young trees.
